Job Description:
We are looking for a motivated and committed male Deckhand to join a 55m private yacht.
The vessel is based in the Netherlands during the winter and runs a busy family cruising program in Northern Europe from April until October.
This role covers all exterior duties including cleaning, maintenance, painting, varnishing, tender driving, watersports setup, and guest service. Candidates should have solid practical skills in Awlgrip and G-line paint systems, as well as basic varnish preparation and application techniques.
The ideal candidate will be hands-on, proactive, and safety-minded, with a positive attitude and strong teamwork skills. Experience on yachts of similar size (55m+) is preferred but not essential — those with experience on smaller or larger vessels are also welcome to apply.
The Captain is a hands-on, motivated instructor who offers mentorship and bridge time to crew eager to learn and advance. We’re seeking someone who can commit for more than one season and contribute to a respectful, cooperative, and non-confrontational team environment.
Requirements:
- Must be male and hold an EU passport
- Minimum STCW and ENG1 certificates
- Previous yacht experience required
- Strong tender-driving skills and good seamanship
- Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Commitment to stay beyond a single season
- A strong focus on safety, empathy, and non-violent communication skills — these are valued above pure experience and efficiency
