Sole Chef – 50m Private M/Y (Dual Season)
Döhle Yacht Crew are seeking a professional and committed Sole Chef for a 50m private motor yacht operating a dual-season itinerary. The vessel runs with a busy schedule and requires a chef who is confident managing all aspects of the galley independently.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years’ industry experience, with a strong understanding of Kosher dietary laws and the ability to maintain a Kosher galley. This includes preparing meals for both guests and crew in accordance with Kosher guidelines—no pork or shellfish is served onboard. Experience in baking fresh Challah loaves for Shabbat ceremonies is essential, along with a proactive attitude toward learning about Jewish traditions and Kosher food preparation rules.
The chef must be confident working as a sole chef, cooking for 9 crew and between 6 to 20+ guests. Strong provisioning and storage skills are required, along with experience using Miele appliances and the Paco Jet. The ability to produce menus weeks in advance and adapt to constructive feedback from the owner is key. The role also demands flexibility to prepare impromptu canapés and finger foods for large cocktail events.
A collaborative approach is essential, particularly with the Chief Stewardess, to ensure meal planning and service styles align with the owners’ evolving preferences. The successful candidate will be calm under pressure, highly organized, and take pride in maintaining the galley to the highest standards of cleanliness. A long-term commitment is expected, and the chef should be interested in building a strong relationship with both the owners and crew.
