Chief Officer/1st Mate in Qatar

Summary

We are seeking a Chief Officer/1st Mate to join a 44m motor yacht operating out of Qatar. In this permanent position, you will play a vital role in the safe and efficient operation of the vessel, overseeing daily activities, managing the deck crew, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational protocols. Responsibilities will include watchkeeping, navigation, maintenance of deck equipment, and assisting with onboard guest services as needed. The ideal candidate will possess valid certifications, strong leadership skills, and significant experience in a similar role on motor yachts. A proven ability to work collaboratively within a small crew is essential, as is expertise in maritime regulations and safety practices. The position involves worldwide cruising itineraries, requiring flexibility and adaptability. Candidates should be committed to maintaining high standards of service and professionalism at all times while contributing to a cohesive team environment.

Essential Qualifications

Entry Level Qualifications (or equivalent)

• Drivers License
• STCW 95 (STCW 2010)
• ENG 1 (Medical Certificate)

Master/Skipper Qualifications (or Merchant, USCG & AMSA equivalent)

• MCA CoC Officer of the Watch <3000gt
• MCA CoC Chief Mate <3000gt
• MCA CoC Master <500gt / Class 5
• MCA CoC Master <3000gt / Class 4
• Reg II/2 CoC Chief Mate (Unlimited) / Master <3000gt

RYA/MCA Deck Modules (OR Short Courses & equivalent)
