Burgess recruitment is currently seeking a Chief engineer for a 60m+ yacht
We are seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to join a 60m+ 1962 built passenger vessel now converted into a private yacht.
Job description
- Vessel currently in La Ciotat undergoing a massive renovation
- Crew living ashore
- Main priority is to prepare the vessel for going operational (this in itself is going to be a huge undertaking similar to a new build)
- Not expected to be operational until Summer 2026 earliest
- Minimal senior crew on site at the moment, but trying to build a new team of professional like minded individuals
- Organisation and preparation of the following:
- Inventorise all engineering equipment and upload to IDEA program
- Start planned maintenance system on IDEA
- Assist Owners team with RINA interactions and the upcoming special survey
- Organise for servicing of all engineering and safety equipment so the vessel is in turn key condition for when she goes operational
- Write all new SOPs
- Primary focus is on getting the vessel ready for operations
- Vessel will run strictly as a dry ship
- Vessel will not be fully crewed until about 2-3 months prior to launch date
- Main focus is to get the vessel from where it is now to fully operational
- The CE will need to be hands-on, solution orientated, knowledgeable and have a passion for older vessels
- Single cabin (but it is very small)
Requirements
- III/3 or more
- Proven experience in a similar role on yachts
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- IDEA knowledge beneficial
- Refit experience a plus
Start date: ASAP
Location: La Ciotat
Salary: EUR 11000
Leave: 60 days, may turn rotation once operational
