Sole Engineer in New Zealand

Summary

HMG is looking for a Y3, or higher, level candidate for a 38m charter motor yacht in Australia.

Applicants in Australia/New Zealand/SE Asia given priority.

Commercially registered and operating Australia and South Pacific waters.

Last refitted in 2023, the Yacht has MTU main engines, Kohler generators (Rebuilt 2022), NAIAD Stabilisers, Hamman Ag sewage system, Condarair Air Conditioning.

Shared cabin when in service, single cabin when not (majority of time).

Salary range $170-190,000 AUD, (102- 114,000 Euro per year) negotiable for the right person, DOE Experience and licence held. Charter tips additional. Leave is negotiable, starting at 60 days per year.

Good mix of nationalities and ages on board amongst the 6 crew.

Good Owners who have a good eye for detail and are continually improving the yacht.

Joining in Auckland, New Zealand, the incoming Chief will be given a thorough handover by the outgoing Chief. Excellent itinerary for the next 12 months cruising some remote areas.

Essential Qualifications

Entry Level Qualifications (or equivalent)

• ENG 1 (Medical Certificate)
• STCW 95 (STCW 2010)

Engineering Qualifications (or Merchant, USCG & AMSA equivalent)

• RIII/3 Y4 Chief Engineer (<200gt <1500kW)/ EOOW III/1 (SV) (<3000gt <9000kW)
• RIII/3 Y3 Chief Engineer (<500gt <3000kW)/ Chief Engineer (SV) (<500gt 3000kW)
• RIII/1 Engineer Officer of the Watch (Unlimited)
