Summary

Position: First Officer – 50m Motor Yacht

A 50-meter motor yacht is seeking an experienced and highly competent First Officer to join the vessel’s senior management team. This is a full-time position requiring strong technical knowledge, proven leadership ability, and adherence to the highest operational and safety standards.

Primary Responsibilities:

·      Act as Second-in-Command, supporting the captain in the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.

·      Fulfill ISM, ISPS, and SMS compliance obligations, ensuring accurate record keeping and timely reporting.

·      Stand navigational bridge watches at sea, maintaining safe passage and compliance with COLREGS and international maritime regulations.

·      Directly manage and train the deck department, delegating duties and overseeing exterior maintenance schedules to ensure the vessel is maintained to the highest standard.

·      Coordinate and execute tender operations, including safe launch, retrieval, and guest transfers.

·      Lead and participate in safety drills, emergency preparedness, and crew training initiatives.

·      Assist the Captain with voyage planning, administrative reporting, and port operations.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements:

·      STCW certification, including all valid ancillary courses.

·      OOW 3000 GT (minimum); Chief Mate 3000 GT or higher preferred.

·      Minimum 2–3 years’ experience as Chief Mate/First Officer on vessels of similar size or larger.

·      Comprehensive understanding of ISM Code, ISPS Code, SMS procedures, and Class/Flag State requirements.

·      Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.

·      Excellent navigational and watchkeeping skills with proven competency in passage planning and ECDIS.

·      Tender driving proficiency and operational experience.

·      Proficient written and verbal English communication skills.
