Role Overview: Seeking an experienced Rotational Captain (Master <3000 GT) to join a 55m private explorer yacht. This unique vessel is a former tugboat converted into a private yacht, requiring patience, skill, and confidence in handling—especially when it comes to docking. The current Captain, who has been onboard for over 10 years, will be your rotation partner, ensuring a smooth handover and continuity of command.
Key Responsibilities
- Safe navigation, operation, and management of the vessel at all times.
- Lead by example, fostering a professional, safe, and supportive crew environment.
- Maintain strong boundaries while interacting with Principals, guests, and crew.
- Oversee maintenance and operational requirements of a vintage vessel, ensuring reliability and safety.
- Collaborate closely with the existing Captain, Manager, and PA of the principal for seamless rotation and vessel continuity.
Candidate Profile
- Master <3000 GT License required.
- Valid Schengen and B1/B2 visas
- All maritime certificates and endorsements are up to date.
- Strong leadership and crew welfare focus
- Previous experience with explorer yachts, tugs, or older vessels is highly desirable.
- Calm, patient, professional demeanor, able to adapt to the vessel’s unique demands.
- Respectful, discreet, and able to maintain professional boundaries with owners and guests.

- Fully rotational crew structure, typically 13+ onboard at a time.
