Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and hands-on First Officer to join the team of a 144ft motor yacht. Currently undergoing the final stages of an extensive refit in a Florida shipyard, this is a unique opportunity to step into a vital role as we resestablish operational procedures and get the yacht back in an operational ready state.
We require a First Officer with a genuine passion for maintenance and an eye for detail. This is an older yacht that has just completed a significant engineering-focused refit, and as such, requires a First Officer who can re-establish a deck program through dedicated care and thorough maintenance procedures.
The ideal candidate will be a true all-rounder, ready to roll up their sleeves and lead by example. We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, impeccable standards, and a positive, collaborative attitude.
Qualifications & Experience:
- License: Minimum Yacht Master (Ocean/Offshore). Priority will be given to candidates actively working towards their OOW (Officer of the Watch) 3000gt CoC.
- B1/B2 visa or US resident
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in the superyacht industry, with at least 2 years in a dedicated deck officer role on similar-sized vessels.
- Maintenance Experience: Proven hands-on experience with yacht maintenance, repairs, and detailing. A solid understanding of paint, varnish, and general on-deck systems is highly valued.
- Safety Culture: Demonstrated commitment to safety with an in-depth understanding of ISM, ISPS, and SOLAS regulations.
- Professionalism: Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Personal Attributes: We require a candidate with sober habits, a healthy lifestyle, and a strong sense of personal responsibility and integrity.
If you are a dedicated, experienced, and enthusiastic First Officer looking for a challenging yet rewarding role aboard a classic yacht with a dedicated team, we encourage you to apply.
We look forward to welcoming the right candidate to our team!
