Chief Officer/1st Mate in Italy

Summary

We are looking for a qualified and proactive Chief Officer to support the operational readiness of a 56m new-build sailing yacht.

You will help oversee deck operations, implement safety procedures (ISM), and prepare the vessel for delivery by working closely with the Operational Readiness Manager, shipyard, and crew. The role includes hands-on involvement with commissioning, documentation, training, and compliance.

Requirements:

• Master (Yachts <3000gt) CoC or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years’ yachting or maritime experience
• Experience with new builds or major refits
• ENG1, fluent in English, and eligible to work in the EU
• Familiar with ISM, navigational procedures, and deck systems

Ideal for a detail-oriented officer ready to contribute from the build phase through to successful handover.

Entry Level Qualifications (or equivalent)

• STCW 95 (STCW 2010)
• ENG 1 (Medical Certificate)
• Drivers License

Master/Skipper Qualifications (or Merchant, USCG & AMSA equivalent)

• MCA CoC Chief Mate <3000gt
