Itinerary Overview:
- Yacht purchase closing in July 2025
- Transatlantic crossing planned via: Greenland → Iceland → Scotland → Gibraltar
- Based in the Mediterranean for at least 12 to 18 months
- Likely winter base: South of France or Italy
- Use: Combination of private and charter
Key Requirements:
- Y3 Engineering License (or higher)
- Previous experience as Chief Engineer on yachts of similar size and complexity
- Familiarity with transatlantic crossings and cold-water operations
- Strong knowledge of marine engineering systems, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Ability to manage planned maintenance schedules and engine room documentation
- High attention to safety, compliance, and operational reliability
- Collaborative mindset and ability to support the Captain and Owner during delivery, shipyard, and operational phases
- Strong communicator and calm problem-solver, with a “can-do” attitude
- Long-term approach and commitment to consistency and excellence

- Main Engines: 2 x Caterpillar C32 – 660 HP
- Generators: 2 x Northern Lights 99kW
Tenders & Toys Management:
- Tender 1: Novurania LX 750 (26 ft, 2016) – New tubes (2022), Volvo D3 I/O 220 HP – overhauled in 2024
- Tender 2: Novurania CAT 24 (24 ft) – Yamaha 200 HP, new tubes (2022), beach landing bow
- Rescue Tender: Zodiac Futura MK2 C – Yamaha 15 HP with electric start
- Toys: 4 x Seabobs
Ideal Candidate Profile:
This is a hands on and trusted position working closely with the Captain and a technically-savvy Owner. The Chief Engineer will:
- Ensure the vessel is mechanically and operationally sound for a demanding itinerary
- Lead engineering operations with foresight, precision, and proactivity
- Keep systems running smoothly under both private and charter usage
- Be a reliable onboard presence with excellent interpersonal and team dynamics
- Support a professional, long-term crew culture
