Description:
We are looking for a motivated green deckhand to join a professionally run 500GT private motor yacht. This is a fantastic opportunity for an entry-level candidate looking to take their first step into the yachting industry and learn the fundamentals from a supportive deck team.
The vessel is privately owned, operates with a busy cruising program with owners onboard for large amounts of time during summer, and offers excellent long-term growth for the right candidate.
Itinerary:
Summer: U.S. Northeast Coast
Winter: Caribbean
2026: Europe cruising planned
Ideal Candidate:
Green (entry-level) – no prior yachting experience required, day work preferable
Positive attitude, good communicator, and eager to learn
Works well in a team and takes instruction
Presentable, professional, and respectful
No visible tattoos while in uniform
Non-South African nationality (for crew balance)
Fluent in English
Minimum Requirements:
STCW Basic Safety Training
ENG1 (or equivalent seafarer medical)
RYA Powerboat Level 2 (essential)
Valid passport with unrestricted travel access to the U.S., Caribbean, and Europe
