We are seeking a capable and hard-working Deckhand to join a 45m private motor yacht currently undergoing an intensive shipyard period. This role is ideal for someone hands-on, proactive, and comfortable in a physically demanding environment.
About the Vessel:
- 45m motor yacht
- Built in 2002
- Steel hull / Aluminium superstructure
- Private use only
- Currently in shipyard for class-related technical works
- Operates as a dry vessel with a clean-living, professional crew culture
The Role:
This is a practical, on-the-tools deckhand position. You’ll be working closely with the First Officer and Captain on physical refit tasks including sanding, painting, varnishing, deck prep, and general repair work. No job too big or small — we're looking for someone who takes pride in hands-on work and maintaining high standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sanding, varnishing, painting, and detailing
- Washdowns and exterior upkeep
- Mooring and unmooring assistance
- Basic repair and maintenance tasks
- Supporting shipyard operations and timelines
- Tender and watersports prep if required
- Assisting with inventories and ordering
Requirements:
- B1/B2 visa required
- STCW and ENG1 required
- All documents must be in date with no expiry within the next 6 months
- Prior experience on vessels 35m+ preferred
- Strong work ethic and comfort with physical tasks
- Basic knowledge of coatings, tools, and yacht maintenance
- Good attitude, teamwork, and initiative a must
- Familiarity with Triton or maintenance tracking systems is a plus
Important:
Do not apply if you do not have a valid B1/B2 visa, STCW, ENG1, and supporting documents in date with at least 6 months’ validity remaining.
Additional Information:
This is a shipyard-based role, not a polished summer Med program. We’re a tight-knit team who get stuck in and support each other. If you’re motivated, detail-focused, and ready to contribute on day one—we’d love to hear from you.
