Seeking a 2nd Officer for 70m+ M/Y – Private
We are looking for an enthusiastic and hands-on 2nd Officer to join a dynamic and active crew on a well-run 70m+ private motor yacht currently in the shipyard in New Zealand. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to step up or further their bridge experience in a supportive environment.
The ideal candidate will have a strong deck background with practical shipyard or trade experience; varnishing skills are a bonus.
The role will initially be deck-focused while in the yard—leading the deck team during the Bosun’s leave—and transition to a more bridge-based role once operational.
Looking for a team player with a supportive attitude, strong leadership potential, and a willingness to learn is key. You don’t need to be confident in ISM— happy to teach—but a solid yachtie background is essential due to the maintenance required onboard.
Summer 2025: Shipyard in Auckland,NZ Winter 2025/26: NZ, Fiji, Tahiti
Start Date: June 2025
Compensation Package: 6000 euros/pm, 90 days leave
Skills and Attributes Required:
- OOW CoC (newly qualified welcome)
- Prior yachting experience required
- Trade/shipyard/maintenance background highly desirable
- Active, social, and approachable personality
- Strong team leadership while maintaining camaraderie with the team
Qualifications Required:
- OOW
- STCW (Fully Updated) with PDSD
- ENG1
- B1/B2 visa preferred, but not essential.
