Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team at a prestigious 42,000-acre private estate located in the stunning Northern Cairngorms. We are seeking a capable and versatile individual to take on a varied role combining high-standard housekeeping, administrative support, and coordination duties within a professional estate environment.

The successful candidate will assist in the running of the shooting lodge, which is maintained to a high standard, and will carry out housework to an excellent standard across the estate’s properties. This includes being responsible for cleaning a let property, often involving weekend changeovers, changing beds in preparation for family and guests, managing laundry and ironing duties, and ensuring that all areas of the properties are always clean, tidy, and well-presented.

In addition to housekeeping, the role includes a wide range of administrative duties essential to the smooth running of the estate. These responsibilities include assisting with bookkeeping, invoice processing, and arranging property repairs. The candidate will be expected to maintain accurate records of bookings, visitor information, and estate activities such as property maintenance. They will also manage holiday cottage operations, including handling guest bookings and invoicing, and coordinate with estate Factors, gamekeepers, and other team members to ensure efficient communication and workflow. The role further involves contributing to financial reporting and data management processes, and responding to enquiries while working closely with the Estate Manager.

Working hours are typically 40 to 45 hours per week over five days (Monday to Friday). A background in agricultural, sporting, or property-based roles is advantageous, and a valid UK driving licence is essential. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a close-knit and professional team in one of Scotland’s most scenic and prestigious rural estates.

DUTIES TO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

·      Support the daily operations of the shooting lodge, ensuring it is maintained to an exceptional standard

·      Perform thorough and high-quality housekeeping tasks across estate properties

·      Manage all aspects of laundry and ironing to a high standard

·      Provide administrative support including basic bookkeeping, processing invoices, and coordinating property maintenance.

·      Maintain accurate records of bookings, guest information, and estate operations.

·      Oversee holiday cottage management, handling reservations, guest communications, and related invoicing.

·      Liaise with estate staff, including Factors and gamekeepers, to ensure smooth and coordinated daily operations.

·      Respond to enquiries and work closely with the Estate Manager to support the overall running of the estate.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • A full, clean UK driving licence
  • Effective communication skills
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team and have great time management skills
  • Prior experience of working within a similar role
  • Excellent checkable references
