Summary
We have a great new opportunity available for an experienced Housekeeper with a team player mentality to work as part of a team of 6 housekeepers on a beautiful Estate in Henley-on-Thames which consists of one main residence and two guest cottages. You will take pride in your work and have excellent knowledge of how to care for luxury furnishings and surfaces, and have a good understanding of the use of appropriate cleaning products.
With a flexible approach you will be responsible for general housekeeping, caring for antiques, art works and fine furnishings, as well as some laundry duties. The ideal candidate will have an exceptional eye for detail and brilliant interpersonal and communication skills. Prior experience onboard superyachts would be advantageous, but is not essential.
Working 5 days on 2 days off on a rota basis, you should be flexible to work on weekends - 1 or 2 weekends per month. When you are required to work over the weekend you will receive two days off in the week instead. Usual working hours are 8am – 5pm. A live-out role, you will live locally or within a commutable distance from Henley-on-Thames and have a driving licence. You must be pet friendly as there are dogs at the property.
DUTIES TO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
• Daily cleaning including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning bathrooms, kitchen and living areas
• Changing bed linen, making beds, and tidying and cleaning bedrooms
• Laundry and ironing duties
• Packing and unpacking suitcases
• Polishing silver, glass, marble, and wood surfaces
• Caring for antiques and artworks
• Service duties as required
• Ad-hoc errand running
• Service duties (this is generally more relaxed, mostly buffet-style). More formal service for events and dinner parties
• Occasional help with food prep
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
• Prior housekeeping experience in a high-end private household, onboard superyachts or in a 5* hotel
• Fluency in English and the right to live and work in the UK
• Hardworking, dedicated and high attention to detail
• Able to work as part of a team
• Flexible, energetic and able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Trustworthy, reliable, and discreet
• Proved longevity in prior roles
• Driving licence
• Excellent checkable references
• Willingness to obtain a DBS check
