Summary
We are currently seeking a Second or Third Engineer for a temporary/daywork position on board a 58m private motor yacht undergoing a shipyard period in the United States. This is a great opportunity for a technically capable and motivated individual to gain hands-on experience during a busy maintenance and refit phase.
You will assist the Chief Engineer with daily operations in the engine room, including system overhauls, scheduled maintenance, inventory control, and coordination with contractors and vendors. Tasks may include mechanical disassembly, inspections, servicing of machinery, and general technical support during yard works.
This position is shore-based during the refit period and is ideal for an engineer looking to gain exposure to refit processes or stay active in the industry between contracts. Candidates must be local to the U.S. or have valid work authorization.
Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder
- STCW Basic Training and valid ENG1 (or equivalent)
- Previous yacht or commercial vessel engineering experience (Second or Third Engineer level preferred)
- Strong technical knowledge and a proactive, can-do attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small technical team
- Availability for immediate start
If you're a capable engineer available for temporary/daywork and located in the U.S., we invite you to join the team for this shipyard period and contribute to a well-run private motor yacht project.
