Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Engineer to join a 55m+ charter motor yacht operating in the Mediterranean, with an exciting and active summer cruising schedule. This is a rotational position, offering a balanced time-on/time-off arrangement, making it ideal for an experienced professional looking for long-term stability in a dynamic charter environment.
As Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all technical systems on board, including main engines, generators, HVAC, electrical, and AV/IT systems. You will manage the engine room, oversee the maintenance schedule, ensure full compliance with class and flag regulations, and maintain up-to-date documentation in line with ISM and safety protocols.
You will work closely with the Captain and other heads of department to support smooth day-to-day operations and deliver a seamless guest experience. The ability to troubleshoot under pressure, implement preventative maintenance, and lead an engineering team is essential.
The ideal candidate must hold a minimum Y3 CoC (or equivalent), along with valid STCW, ENG1, and associated certifications. Previous experience as Chief Engineer on similar-sized charter yachts is required. A strong work ethic, exceptional organizational skills, and a proactive, calm approach are critical to success in this role.
