Summary
Burgess Recruitment is currently seeking a Second Officer for a 60m+ yacht.
This is a great opportunity for an established Bosun on 55m or above vessels, who has willingness to share their expertise with the rest of the deck crew.
As Second Officer, you will hold the role of Safety Officer, responsible for overseeing all LSA (Life-Saving Appliances) and FFE (Fire-Fighting Equipment) checks and services. Additionally, you will be an integral member of the navigation bridge team. More deck orientated when on charter.
Responsibilities & Requirements
- OOW 3000 in hand
- Proven longevity in similar role or as Bosun
- Work as part of the Navigational Bridge team
- Serve as onboard Safety Officer, responsible for LSA and FFE checks and services
- Perform routine maintenance and upkeep of GMDSS equipment
- Train crew members on the proper use of deck and safety equipment
- Strong tender driver skills, with the ability to mentor junior crew
- Comprehensive knowledge of deck maintenance and various yacht systems
- Strong experience with toys and inflatables- very physical
- Charter experience
Start date: 20 June
Location: Italy
Salary: USD 6000
Leave: 4:2 Rotation (2 months as OOW / Bosun and then 2 months as 2nd Officer )
Vessel & Itinerary - Dual season, Charter vessel mainly Med/Caribbean with plans to go further afield next year.
