Sovren Nautical Academy
SA is the first training facility of its kind where yacht crew can complete fully RMI, RYA and PYA accredited courses across all departments, including the deck, medical, safety, security, leadership, interior, and culinary courses. Training can take place at the facilities in Palma de Mallorca or inside One Ocean Port Vell Marina in Barcelona or SNA can even tailor complete crew packages for on-board training, for any size yacht, anywhere in the world.
Advanced Accredited Courses
We run RYA accredited courses for all crew from up to Yachtmaster Ocean.
Our fire fighting courses enhance the skills of the delegate in leadership and organization of teams of personnel, covering topics such as ventilation control, hazards involving dangerous goods, liaison with shore-based firefighters, and the effects of fire fighting water on ship stability.
Security and safety schooling includes an introduction to the background of the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS), the roles of the Company Security Officer (CSO) and Ship Security Officer, security requirements, and security administration.
We also teach essential information on radio operations including distress, emergency, and medical assistance procedures. Digital selective calling (DSC), Global maritime distress and safety system (GMDSS) and Search and rescue (SART).
Accredited Interior training
SNA has partnered with various high-caliber "Interior” specialists to offer yacht crew the highest standards of hospitality and service courses accredited by the PYA.SA interior trainers come from both professional yachting backgrounds and the luxury hospitality and service industry including, the Connaught Hotel, the Hilton Group, Harvey Nicholls, La Gavroche, and the British Royal family (London). The Interior courses also carry the "Academy of Food and Wine Service” (AFWS) accreditation that is recognized outside of yachting by the global hospitality industry. Both the Interior and culinary courses can be tailored to meet the requirements of the yacht and can also be carried out on-board.
