Company Profile

iPowerboat is an established RYA Training School and Loch Ness swim escort boat service based at Ballachulish on the west coast of Scotland, surrounded by the towering mountains of Glencoe. In our view this is the best location in the World to use and train in a powerboat. iPowerboat specialises in powerboat training and runs recognised RYA courses from RYA Powerboat Level two to advanced powerboat, VHF to Day Skipper and Yachtmaster theory courses.

"Anthem 2" is the main training vessel. It is a commercial Ribquest 6.3m Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB) custom built and designed specifically for training and handling challenging seas. Anthem 2 is powered by a 140hp 4 stroke Suzuki outboard, which allows it to comfortably cruises at 30 knots, and has a top speed of 45 knots. Commercially coded to a Category 3R it has all the latest safety equipment is carried, and life jackets are mandatory. There is a chart plotter fitted which allows you to learn and compare 21st century techniques as well as more traditional methods.

We believe our location provides the perfect environment for training, we have sheltered, secluded bays for practicing, and improving your skills. Within a stone's throw we can be in the Corran Narrows which can provide a more challenging environment for improving offshore skills.

All our courses are based on Loch Leven, and Loch Linnhe, under the rugged peaks of Glencoe. Our sea state and weather can change so much in a short space of time, providing you with most weather conditions in just two days on some occasions!

There are sheltered bays for you to really practice your powerboat handling, and there can be very fast moving tidal streams offering you the opportunity to try out your newfound skills on turbulent water.
