John Puddifoot Principal of Capital Training brings over 35 years of teaching experience and is both an RYA Yachtmaster Instructor and RYA Examiner—a rare combination that gives our students an examiners insight and thereby the best chance of passing their RYA Yachtmaster exam. With over 200,000 sea miles under his belt and a specialisation in motorboat instruction, John personally ensures every student receives the highest level of training.

Unlike other schools, we prioritise small group instruction, with a maximum 3:1 student-to-instructor ratio. In many cases, courses run with just two students, allowing for more hands-on training, greater individual attention, and a stronger foundation in real-world boating skills.
