Mature bosun required for a 48M private yacht. Applicant must have a minimum of two years of deck experience on vessels +/- 50M. Only career minded individuals will be considered. The candidate must currently hold a valid STCW, ENG-1, passport, driver’s license and certificate of competency. Yacht master minimum. USCG Merchant Mariner Credentials will also be considered. Radar Observer, ARPA, ECDIS, MEDPIC, Dive Master and fishing experience would all be relevant bonus certificates and skills. Primary duties for this job will include maintaining the exterior of the vessel, tenders and toys. This position also includes duties as OOW while underway. This is a supervisory role with a deckhand and a deck/2nd engineer as part of your team. Both of the deckhands have been aboard for greater than one year. This is a very stable program with a monthly salary and excellent benefits. The benefits available after completing a 90-day probationary period include; health and dental insurance, annual flight allowance, training courses paid for with commitment and a 13th month bonus. This is not a program where you will earn a lot of sea time. The vessel generally has two ports of call. South Florida and The Bahamas. You must be ok with not working on a yacht with a world itinerary. The vessel is Cayman Islands flagged and operates with nine crew members. Most have been aboard for one year or more. We work as a team and treat each other fairly and with respect. This program has been around for a long time. The boat is in great shape and longevity is common. Guest trips are often low-key and fun. Primarily the guests use the yacht for family vacations and at times we do not leave the dock. The guests are very active and outdoorsy. Scuba diving, fishing and playing sports are common activities during guest trips. Seldom is there ever last-minute notice. We usually know weeks in advance of any guest use for the yacht. If you are experienced, qualified, mature and looking for a stable position with a great work life balance, then this could be a great position to apply for. Must be in Ft. Lauderdale or surrounding areas to interview in person.
