Summary
We are recruiting for a Rotational Chief Engineer for a 55m Motor Yacht that has been operating as a dual season (Med/Caribbean) private and charter vessel. Currently, the vessel is in Athens Greece.
The vessel has just undergone a long yard period with many systems and machinery having been overhauled and serviced; therefore, the vessel is in good state with regards to macro machinery.
You will be responsible for running the engineering department, and will require hands-on experience, a pro-active approach to improvement systems, equipment, planned maintenance and record keeping. The ideal candidate would be a person who enjoys engineering work with a positive attitude to help whenever needed in other departments. Good inter-communication between the departments and the Captain is important. A team player that works well together with the 2nd engineers and can work with the other Chief Engineer to accomplish long term and short term goals, with continuous improvement of the engine room.
Good skills with regards to electrical and electronic, hydraulic, diesel engine diagnostics are essential.
The role is available to Engineers who hold a Chief Engineer Y1, Y2, Chief Engineer SV or Chief Engineer 2nd Unlimited.
Engineers who have experience on yachts are preferred.
Candidate Requirements
- Must Hold Chief Engineer Y1, Y2, SV 3000GT, 2nd Engineer Unlimited
- All STCW & ENG1 Certificates up to date
- Experience as a 2nd Engineer on larger vessels or as a Chief Engineer on similar size yachts.
- Previous yacht experience is essential
- Healthy person with a positive attitude
- Excellent communication in English
- Valid Schengen Visa & B1/B2

- Salary DOE (Competitive Package, well within standard salaries for similar size vessels)
