Position Snapshot

·        From $5000 US / month DOE/Negotiable

·        Start: End of March / April

·        Nz/Aus based for next 2 years

·        40-60 days annual leave

A high profile 50m private / charter MY is on the search for an experienced 2^nd engineer to join their program.

The vessel operates a mix of private trips and charters and will be based in NZ/AUS region for the next 2 years, followed by a world cruise.

The 2^nd engineer will support the chief engineer throughout all major maintenance and repairs, while assisting the deck team on occasion whilst on guest trips.

The position could suit a local Aus/NZ engineer out of a commercial cadetship program (yacht experience is not necessary)  

**Candidates in the Aus/ NZ region will be given priority**

The Ideal Candidate

·        MEOL (or higher) or EOOW

·        Previous yacht or commercial engineer experience

·        Interested in learning under an experience chief engineer

·        Hands on with their engineering

·        Technically minded

·        Can share in engineering watches

·        Enjoys role variety (can assist on deck)

·        STCW & Seafarer Medical

Qualification: EOOW or MEOL

Location: Auckland, NZ, world itinerary.

Start Date: Late March, early April

Summary: Primary role is 2nd Engineer, but when guests are onboard supports deck.

Salary: 5000 USD (Negotiable to go up)

Gender: Male

Leave: 40-60 days (Negotiable) 

Essential Qualifications

Engineering Qualifications (or Merchant, USCG & AMSA equivalent)
