We are seeking a Temporary Sole/Chief Engineer to join a 55m sailing yacht, from August to October 2026.
Vessel Details
• Vessel: 55m Royal Huisman
• Condition: Well maintained with comprehensive maintenance records
• Main Engine: MTU 2000 Series
• Generators: Northern Lights
Itinerary
Joining in Madagascar, the vessel will undertake the following passages:
• Madagascar → Seychelles (approx. 14 days)
• Seychelles → Cape Town (approx. 14 days)
• Cape Town → Uruguay (approx. 34 days)
Candidates must be comfortable with extended ocean passages ranging from 10–35 days.
Role Requirements
• Proven experience as Sole or Chief Engineer on similar sized vessels
• Strong sailing yacht experience (minimum watch leader level)
• Excellent maintenance and record-keeping standards
• Engineering certification is flexible; practical experience and competency are the priority
• Electrical background
• 4–7 day comprehensive handover provided
• Ongoing technical support available from rotation engineer and management team
Package
• Salary: €6,000 – €7,500 per month (DOE)

• Standard MLC contract
