Summary
Highly motivated, organised, and skilled 2nd engineer required to join this busy private / charter yacht.
This rotational position is 2:2 and starts late March.
The Second Engineers role is a hands-on, technically demanding position. You will be expected to take real ownership of machinery spaces and systems. The second engineer leads a lot of the planned maintenance, faults finding, and execution of repairs. Strong mechanical fundamentals, sound electrical foundation, organised maintenance of PMS, inventory, worklists, and positive attitude, are all required.
This is not a “tick-box” role; we are looking for an engineer who is proactive, detail-driven, comfortable working independently, managing the 3rd engineer and other resources, capable of thinking ahead to prevent issues rather than just reacting to alarms. Good documentation, tidy engineering practice, and clear communication with the Chief Engineer, bridge, deck and interior are expected as standard, as is a professional attitude that supports a reliable, safe, and well-run yacht at all times.
Yachting experience essential. Candidates will not be considered without some longevity in yacht engineer departments.
