Chief Engineer in Italy

Summary

We are currently seeking an experienced Chief Engineer for a 54m new-build yacht, presently under construction and scheduled for delivery in January 2026.

This is a rotational position (2 months on / 2 months off), sharing duties with the current Chief Engineer who is already involved in the build process.

Position Details:

• Role: Chief Engineer
• Vessel: 54m New Build
• Rotation: 2:2
• Start: Prior to delivery (flexible for the right candidate)

Candidate Requirements:

• Proven experience as Chief Engineer on yachts 50m+
• New-build and delivery experience essential
• Strong technical and maintenance knowledge
• Confident managing shipyard periods, contractors, and warranty processes
• Valid Y1/Y2 or equivalent CoC
• STCW, ENG1, and all relevant certifications in date
• Professional, organised, and a strong team leader

Essential Qualifications

Entry Level Qualifications (or equivalent)

• STCW 95 (STCW 2010)
• ENG 1 (Medical Certificate)
• Drivers License

Engineering Qualifications (or Merchant, USCG & AMSA equivalent)

• RIII/2 Y1 Chief Engineer (<3000gt <9000kW)/ Chief Engineer (SV) (<3000gt <9000kW)
• RIII/2 Chief Engineer (Unlimited)/ Class 1
