We are recruiting a Junior Butler for a lovely private family of five based in Oxfordshire. The household is fully staffed, with three children (there is a nanny), and offers an excellent opportunity for a candidate looking to develop a career in private service.
This role would suit someone with some previous experience in hospitality or private service who is keen to learn and be trained on the job. The Junior Butler will work closely with the House Manager/Head Butler and wider household team, receiving hands-on training across all areas of the household.
Responsibilities include:
• Front of house duties and providing high standards of hospitality
• Formal and informal table service
• Assisting with entertaining and guest care
• Wardrobe management, including packing and unpacking
• Supporting housekeeping and service teams as required
• Assisting in the kitchen during service times
• Helping with cars and general household support
• Maintaining discretion and professionalism at all times
Candidates should have some experience in a private household, hotel, restaurant, or similar hospitality environment along with a genuine interest in private service and hospitality. A willingness to learn and take training across multiple departments is essential. Flexible, positive, and team-focused attitude. Driving licence preferred.
This is a fully staffed household with structured training, long-term role with development potential. Full time, working 5 days per week including weekends, 2 days off mid-week. The role can be live in (shared accommodation) or live out.
