Summary

We are currently in search of a Head Housekeeper for new build 72m charter yacht to be delivered in February 2026. This role will require independence to run the housekeeping department (which will rotate) with the support of the chief stew. We will be running only the highest standard charters paying almost 1 million EUR a week, so all departments will need to display this.

I want to build a crew who all work towards the same goal. We spend more time with each other than our families, so it needs to be a friendly, warm and fun atmosphere for everyone, and I will be doing my best to promote this at all times. I believe this is the most important part of our jobs and anyone not on the same page, will not work on this boat. I implore every crew member to use their creativity to think of fun ideas for guests and crew, this is not just the job of HoDs. Every crew member will have been chosen based heavily on their personality, so I would hope this shines through to guests, not be a robot.

We are a 72m, 2000gt San Lorenzo. The project has been managed by Edmiston, and has been built to a very strict specification. The boat is diesel electric with no main engines. The idea is to run mostly on batteries at night and generators during the day to make for a very quiet engine room! For guests we have a huge wrap-around beach club, gym, reformer, cold plunge, sauna, hammam, massage and hairdressing room, Ski Nautique wakeboard boat, limo tender and beach lander. We also have football, basketball and pickleball court on the bow. For crew we have a gym, huge galley, crew lounge, huge refrigerated garbage store and great interior storage for uniform, decor etc. We even have vertical gardens to grow our own greens and herbs.

The boat will be used heavily. The owner will have a main 4 week trip in the summer, then smaller trips throughout the year. Otherwise we are fully open for charter and he wants to do approx 12 weeks a year in the Med and Caribbean. We will do our best to push charters through boat shows and putting out top quality media continuously.

We will be very active on social media and produce some incredible videography on board. I believe that anyone can gain yachting qualifications, so my recruitment is based almost solely on personality. I believe that all crew should be physically fit to carry out their duties and will encourage health and fitness on board. Wednesday afternoons are Sports Days, and you will have a few hours to go and do something fun and active. Food budget for crew will be elevated to ensure amazing produce is used only.

I believe that the workplace should be happy and positive, and any negativity and talking poorly of others will be taken care of immediately. Every single person deserves the same respect. I take a huge interest in all departments and will regularly be found washing down or doing the dishes in a pantry during service, and expect everyone else to help where necessary. I am only hiring people who will need to adopt my desired crew culture. There’ll be no rushing around the boat in a whirlwind, we will be quietly efficient in producing the absolute best experiences for guests. My rotational partner will be carefully chosen to share these ideals.
