Summary
Private, professional program seeks stewardess with a year or so experience. Must show longevity with previous program. The 48m yacht is a 2020 launch by the reverend Delta Marine in Seattle, Washington. We run with a full time crew of 8, no one rotates. We have some temps we can call in when serious immediate family events may occur.
Three stewardesses and the chef make up the interior team. The stewardesses are both at “experienced” level, we all chip in however we can. Frequent question: we’re seeking a new stewardess because the second 12-month contract was completed and she was ready to move up.
From outside looking in we are extremely professional in all aspects of yachting, from the deck crew tucking in their shirts & wearing belts, to the girls wearing their hair up, tied back, crew beds made up each morning, the ensign goes up at 8am sharp and comes down at sunset. This is proper and traditional yachting with high standards that we are all proud of.
We average about one trip every 5-6 weeks, and they are almost always 7-8 days each. Only once was it longer. Over 50% of our trips are just Mr. & Mrs. and they are the nicest, most kind, happy, people who use the boat for fun holidays. That low trip count stated, we do a lot of miles averaging 17,000nm annually,. The boat moves a lot, except in high summer. All interior crew do bridge watches in open sea, everyone enjoys it.
The chief stewardess (32 years yachting) has the program as a well-oiled machine. There are no surprises, no stress, nothing we cannot obtain and no budget for getting it. All departments have various operational lists and checklists, it is very simple to stay on top of any phase of any day. With the interior department being relatively an “easy” workload with everything nearly perfect, the stews do help outside with washdowns on occasion.
Hiring package and benefits are above average. Salary increases occur immediately after passing a 90-day trial period to ensure the proper fit with the team, for everyone involved. No smokers / vapers etc. need apply (dry boat as well, 90% of the time sans special occasions)
