Summary
We are looking for a Chief Engineer STCW III/3
Skills: Experience with Stork Wartsila 6SW280 engine 1500kW or similar. Generators Volvo & Cummins. Day to day operation & maintenance of the ship in a very simple engineroom. A proactive, self sufficient and attentive approach is important to continuously keep Sola to be the smoothest running vessel she can be.
General: Sola is a little 44m, 498GT high latitude expedition vessel coming online.
Most important to us is a positive can do attitude and the desire to be a part of a strong team of 6 crew that collaborates to enable a little boat achieve big things. We are building a team with many miles ahead supporting a wide variety of expeditions. We are in it for the adventure and the love of the sea. (Oil and gas mentality need not apply)
Role: 2.5 months from Falklands in mid-January 2026 to Antartica & then Canary Islands end-March 2026.
The projects are mostly Government level science in Antartica
Salary expectation: Euro €175 - €220 per day plus flights to/from the vessel
