Summary
We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and hands-on Chief Engineer (Y3 or Higher) to join a well-managed 55m motor yacht. The vessel runs with an excellent crew culture, values professionalism and teamwork, and operates on a private schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all engineering, mechanical, and electrical systems
- Maintain vessel to the highest standard in line with class and flag requirements
- Implement and manage planned maintenance system
- Monitor engine room operations, diagnostics, and repairs
- Manage engineering budgets, spares, and inventories
- Provide leadership, safety awareness, and training to the crew
- Assist with AV/IT troubleshooting when required
- Oversee yard periods, dry docks, and contractor relations
Requirements
- Y3 or Higher qualification
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as Chief or 2nd Engineer on 55m+ yachts
- Strong knowledge of engines, generators, hydraulics, HVAC and hotel systems
- Excellent preventative maintenance mindset
- Solid understanding of ISM/ISPS and class compliance
- STCW, ENG1, PDSD
- Clean background and strong references
- Positive, team-driven attitude
