Summary
We are currently seeking a Permanent Chief Engineer to join a 40m Charter Motor Yacht.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the technical operations and maintenance of a 40-metre Motor Yacht, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards. This role offers the opportunity to work on a well structured vessel, providing technical leadership and ensuring the vessel remains in optimal condition for private and charter purposes. The vessel runs with a crew of 8 and will require a hands on Chief engineer that is able to get their hands dirty, willing t help in other departments and is a true team player. The owner of the vessel intends to charter the vessel throughout the Med summer, its home berth will be in Monaco.
Please note:
- The Captain if open to an engineer that has recently completed their Y4 ticket, he is more focused on attitude and willingness to learn than experience.
- This role is due to start the beginning of January 2026 as the vessel is currently being shipped to the Med.
Candidate requirements:
- Y4 Chief Engineer qualification is essential.
- Valid STCW and ENG1.
- Proven experience on motor yachts around 36m-40m, preferably Sunseeker vessels.
- Strong technical knowledge of yacht systems, including propulsion, HVAC, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Prior experience managing vessel maintenance and overseeing technical operations.
- Knowledge of vessel certification and survey requirements.
- Experience with shipyard works, project planning, and vessel refurbishment tasks.
- Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with crew and external contractors.
- Fluency in English
