Engineer in Italy

Summary

We are seeking a skilled Engineer for a 44m motor yacht, built in 1991 and undergoing significant refurbishment in 2025. This temporary position is based in Italy and involves working alongside an 8-member crew. The Engineer will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of all mechanical systems onboard, ensuring operational efficiency and safety during the vessel's worldwide cruising itineraries.

Candidates should possess relevant engineering qualifications and experience in marine engineering, with a strong understanding of yacht systems. A proactive approach to problem-solving, the ability to work collaboratively within a small team, and flexibility to adapt to various situations are essential. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the vessel's operations while working in a dynamic marine environment.

Essential Qualifications

Engineering Qualifications (or Merchant, USCG & AMSA equivalent)

• MCA Approved Engine Course (AEC 1 & 2) Certificate
• MCA Engine Watch Rating Certificate
• MCA Marine Engine Operator License (Y)
• RIII/3 Y4 Chief Engineer (<200gt <1500kW)/ EOOW III/1 (SV) (<3000gt <9000kW)
• 2nd Engineer III/2 (SV) (<3000gt <9000kW)
• RIII/3 Y3 Chief Engineer (<500gt <3000kW)/ Chief Engineer (SV) (<500gt 3000kW)
