Summary
We are currently seeking a Temporary Chief Engineer to join a 40m Private Charter Motor Yacht.
The vessel is currently in Hong Kong and is due to ship at the end of November to the Mediterranean where it will undergo surveys and then start its season i march depending on the status of the vessel. We are looking for a candidate to join the vessel in Hong Kong and Stay on the vessel when it ships with Dock Express to the Mediterranean. The vessel is open to Chief Engineers that have recently completed their Y4. This role is Temporary and for the right candidate could go permanent.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the technical operations and maintenance of the vessel, ensuring it is in optimal. The role involves creating work lists to prepare the yacht for the upcoming season, and overseeing the handover process during the vessel’s shipping from Hong Kong to Genoa. The Chief Engineer will play a key role in maintaining the vessel’s reliability, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards, all whilst supporting a busy charter schedule and seasonal charters.
Candidate requirements:
- Y4 Chief Engineer qualification is essential.
- Valid STCW and ENG1.
- Proven experience on motor yachts around 36m-40m, preferably Sunseeker vessels.
- Prior experience managing vessel maintenance and overseeing technical operations.
- Knowledge of vessel certification and survey requirements.
- Experience with shipyard works, project planning, and vessel refurbishment tasks.
- Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with crew and external contractors.
- Fluency in English
