Chief Engineer in Italy

Summary

Position: Sole Engineer (Y3 / Commercial EOOW equivalent)

Yacht: 42m Private M/Y

Start Date: 01/11/2025

Salary: €7,000 DOE + return flights + full rotation package

Requirements:

• Valid STCW, ENG1, Y3 CoC (or EOOW commercial with yacht crossover)
• Minimum 2+ years experience as Chief or Sole Engineer on similar-sized vessel
• Strong knowledge of generators, water makers, AV/IT systems and planned maintenance
• Hands-on, proactive, team player, able to run the engine room solo

Duties:

• Full responsibility for engine room, planned maintenance and record keeping
• Daily checks, troubleshooting, reporting to Captain/Management
• Manage contractors and coordinate works during shipyard periods
• Maintain safety and environmental standards

Crew: 11 international crew, great onboard atmosphere

Essential Qualifications

Entry Level Qualifications (or equivalent)

• ENG 1 (Medical Certificate)
• STCW 95 (STCW 2010)

Engineering Qualifications (or Merchant, USCG & AMSA equivalent)

• RIII/3 Y3 Chief Engineer (<500gt <3000kW)/ Chief Engineer (SV) (<500gt 3000kW)
• RIII/1 Engineer Officer of the Watch (Unlimited)
