DmB Yachting is currently recruiting a skilled, experienced, and proactive Chief Engineer (CE) to join a luxurious 38+ meter motor yacht based in Europe.
Job Title: Chief Engineer
Location: Europe (TBC)
- Contract Type: Permanent (initial fixed term with possibility of extension or long-term placement)
- Monthly Salary: EUR 7,000
- Start Date: 20 October 2025 (handover with outgoing Chief Engineer)
- End Date: 15 January 2026 (possibility of extension or permanent contract)
Position Overview
The Chief Engineer will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all technical systems on board. The role requires excellent knowledge of engineering systems, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to lead all aspects of maintenance and repair.
✅ Minimum Qualifications / Duties & Responsibilities
- Certificate: Class III/2 COC – Marine Chief Engineer Officer (Unlimited Power), holding valid STCW A-VI/1 (PST, Firefighting, First Aid, PSSR), STCW PDSD, and ENG1 medical.
- Technical Knowledge: Advanced experience with onboard systems, including engines, generators, fuel systems, water makers, electrical, refrigeration, HVAC, computers, hydraulics, and sanitation.
- Maintenance: Strong planning and execution of preventative maintenance schedules; ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Repairs: Competence in managing and supervising engine repairs, overhauls, and refits.
- Systems Management: Development and oversight of maintenance schedules for all major systems.
- Preferred Experience: MTU engines.
