We are currently looking for a very experienced Foreman/Mechanic who is looking to move across to shoreside work. Our clients are a fishing boat builders in the north of Norway specialising in GRP construction. Their location is Rødskjær, which is in the arctic circle, between Lofoten and Tromsø. The backcountry skiing, hiking, and fishing around there is some of the best in the world. So someone happy to work in a very remote location who likes to keep active away from work would suit this role.
The reason for this hiring is because they have recently gained a very large contract for 4x 15m boats and their current Foreman is retiring after many year with the company. The client has mentioned that they are very open to a solid yachting engineer, if of course they feel that they could handle such a remote position.
They are looking for someone who is upbeat and who will automatically try to solve a problem rather than complain about it for hours before attempting to fix it. You will have solid work shop skills, as well as a very high level of office admin skills. People skills will also play a huge part as there is a nicely evened out nationality mix currently within the team.
Accommodation:
There is a small hostel onsite, but you will need to find your own accommodation after a couple of weeks. The clients are happy to help out with a security deposit on a rental via a salary advance. You will be permanently employed so will pay Norway taxes. The perfect candidate will be someone who has their own finances in order and who are ready to relocate.
