Looking for an experienced, well-rounded and hands-on Chief Engineer for a 50 Newly Built Private MY.
Our ideal candidate is organized and efficient, detail oriented, driven, excellent problem-solving skills, hands-on with a professional yet easy-going personality and strong interpersonal and time management skills.
This yacht moves a lot and in cooler climates and has a busy schedule, so we need a hands-on, hardworking and enthusiastic candidate that enjoys travelling of the beaten track. Experience cruising the artic or in cooler climates on an explorer vessel is a bonus.
Strong knowledge of Hybrid Diesel-Electric engines, system maintenance management and in technology /troubleshooting. You must have the technical understanding to carry out minor repairs on board as well as the care and maintenance of the tender.
This role suits someone who is social but always being professional, an easy-going, friendly and caring candidate that works hard with a smile on his face. Staying calm and professional during pressure.
We are looking for a real team player who is willing to lend a hand in all departments whenever needed.
In-depth knowledge of spare parts inventory management and control.
Fluent in English and German or French is a bonus.

Required Documents/Certificates: Min Y3, STCW, ENG1
Requirements for application:
- Min 2 years’ experience as a Chief Engineer on a similar size yacht.
- Strong knowledge of Hybrid Diesel-Electric engines.
- Certificates/further training required for machine operation and maintenance (e.g., MTU).
- In-depth knowledge and experience in the operation and maintenance of ship systems (generators, water management, electrical systems, air conditioning, hydraulics).
- Willingness to undergo further training in the areas of machinery/systems/navigation/safety/leadership, keeping up to date with technical developments on a regular basis.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
- Good verifiable references.
- Great communicator.
