Summary

We are working with a 52m SY who are on the lookout for a Chief Engineer. 

  • Ideal candidate will have a commercial ticket, minimum Y4
  • Salary Industry standard based on experience
  • Rotation is 10 weeks on/off
  • Single Cabin.
  • Start date 1st December 2025
  • Department runs with a CE, 2nd/Deck engineer, the job involves managing the engineering department, refits, yard periods, tenders, electrical and AVIT.
  • No smokers only. No vaping also. Including socially. This is important.
  • Currently in the med and planning a world tour of the Pacific 2026 which the engineer will take a key role in planning, developing and maintaining the yacht ready for this passage.
  • Next 5 year survey is 2029
  • Experience with sailing yachts is a must, understanding sailing systems and processes.
  • This position will suit a fit methodical engineer with good mechanical, electrical background.
  • Can do positive attitude with lots of scope for growth.

  • STCW 95 (STCW 2010)
  • ENG 1 (Medical Certificate)
  • Drivers License
Engineering Qualifications (or Merchant, USCG & AMSA equivalent)
  • RYA Diesel Engine Course
  • MCA Approved Engine Course (AEC 1 & 2) Certificate
  • MCA Marine Engine Operator License (Y)
  • RIII/3 Y4 Chief Engineer (<200gt <1500kW)/ EOOW III/1 (SV) (<3000gt <9000kW)
