Seeking a Captain for a 45m Private M/Y
We are looking for a fit, hands-on Captain to join a well-established 45 meter private motor yacht currently based in Langkawi, Malaysia. You’ll be stepping into a positive and professional crew culture, with a strong emphasis on morale, teamwork, and longevity.
This is not a bridge-bound role — the ideal candidate will be active, engaged, and a natural leader with a people-first mindset. The program offers light owner use and a 10:10 rotation.
The successful candidate will join a multicultural team split between Western and Indonesian crew. You’ll be working closely with a supportive crew and liaising with a detail-oriented owner’s representative.
Ideal Candidate
- Age range ideally between 40–50
- Nationalities preferred: British, Australian, Kiwi
- MCA Master 3000 GT license required
- Previous Captain experience on 40m+ vessels essential
- Southeast Asia experience a plus, but not essential
- Energetic, personable, open-minded, and actively engaged in crew life
- Passionate about team-building, mentorship, and crew morale
- Detail-focused, especially regarding accounting.
Itinerary
- Summer 2025: Langkawi & SE Asia
- Winter 2025/26: Indonesia
Compensation & Rotation
- Start Date: 6th August 2025
- Rotation: 10 weeks on / 10 weeks off
- Salary: $8,500 USD/month
- Travel: Join in Langkawi
- Handover: 3 days with current Captain (rotating out August 10th)
