Summary
We are looking for a chef for our 50m privately owned yacht, with 9 crew.
What we are looking for in the successful candidate is the following:
- A very good chef with 2-5 years proven experience on yachts of similar size.
- A person who is hungry for work, and has a flexible attitude to providing the owner with what he wants, we do not really do fine dining and plating, usually family style meals. You are the owners personal chef, preparing what he prefers to eat, whatever that might be.
- Occasionally friends will come to the boat for a holiday, and a more structured environment is experienced with set menus/meal times etc.
- Usually a good range of Mediterranean style cuisine, with some Asian influence with sashimi and sushi and fresh seafood, pastas, salads etc. Dishes need to be made with a good understanding of how food works, and with a good level of authenticity, though dishes are not over complicated or over processed, they need to be very nicely presented, without going over the top, and they must be flavorful.

- We have a chef Bible of dishes they like, and how they like them prepared. It was produced to gain a level of consistency in the presentation of the food.
This is not a job for someone looking project their own personality too much on the situation, if you are looking to wow charter guests, this position will likely be somewhat frustrating.
We have a diverse mix of English speaking crew, Youthful crew, though the Captains are mature and experienced. We are looking for friendliness and good energy. Hygiene and organization is very important, as we have often been let down in this department.
Crew like a nice variety of healthy food, we try to avoid special dietary requirements within the crew.
Able to travel freely within Europe visa wise, and a B1B2 is a must.
Duel season yacht.
