Summary

Position: First Officer on 46m Explorer Yacht

Cruising Area: Northern Europe

Contract: July 26 to September 15, 2025 - can vary by a few days

An adventurous 46-meter expedition yacht is on the lookout for a hands-on, technically-minded First Officer.

This vessel is built for exploration and is heading for remote waters, starting in Northern Europe, with plans to cross to the Caribbean later this year.

The First Officer will be responsible for ensuring that the ship’s operations meet the standards for safety, security and environment. 

  • Ensure bridge discipline
  • Maintain all navigational equipment, lights, emergency signaling equipment, lifeboats and life vests
  • Assist the Captain with all administrative duties
  • Follow all safety procedures, including arranging regular safety drills
  • Use bridge and navigation systems to navigate the yacht
  • Oversee all deck operations and maintenance and manage the deck crew
  • Have in-depth knowledge of all bridge, navigation and deck procedures onboard the yacht
  • Assume command during the Captain’s absence
  • Set watch schedules
  • Maintain deck inventory and deck equipment
  • Stowage of yacht for sea
  • Adhere to deck budget

Qualifications:

  • Strong technical background
  • Mechanical and electrical operational knowledge of engine room
  • Experience navigating in remote cruising areas
  • A true all-rounder with a proactive, can-do attitude
  • Charter experience is highly valued and considered a strong advantage
