Description:
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Second Engineer for a well-established 57-meter dual-season charter yacht. The vessel is currently Med-based and runs a busy charter schedule in the summer, crossing to the Caribbean for the winter where a lighter charter season is forecast. The yacht operates to a high standard with a strong focus on guest satisfaction and crew longevity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Chief Engineer in the maintenance and safe operation of all engineering systems onboard
- Daily checks, preventative maintenance, fault finding, and repairs
- Monitor engine room logs and equipment performance
- Participate in engine room watchkeeping during passages
- Ensure all engineering spaces are clean, tidy, and well organized
- Support AV/IT troubleshooting as needed
Ideal Candidate:
- Holds a minimum Y3, EOOW or SV 2nd
- At least 1–2 years' experience in a similar role aboard 50m+ yachts
- AV/IT knowledge
- Hands-on, safety-conscious, and highly organized
- Positive team player with good communication skills
- All foundation certification valid STCW, ENG1, Seafarer’s Discharge Book
