Job Opportunity: 2nd Engineer – Private Dual-Season Superyacht
We are actively seeking a highly skilled and dedicated 2nd Engineer to join the professional team onboard a prominent private motor yacht. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to the seamless operation of a large, luxurious vessel known for its extensive systems and a discerning ownership.
Operating on a dual-season itinerary, the yacht typically navigates between popular cruising grounds involving significant international passages. As a private-use-only vessel, the focus is entirely on delivering unparalleled service and maintaining the yacht to the highest possible standards for the owner and their guests.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Chief Engineer in overseeing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring operational readiness.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a cruise ship engineering role and / or on a comparably large 80m+ superyacht.
- Hold an Second Engineer Officer (Unlimited) STCW Regulation III/2 Certificate of Competence (preferably MCA or from another well-recognised issuing authority).
- Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair across a wide range of marine systems.
- Exceptional organizational skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a strong commitment to safety.
- Highly fluent in English with the ability to integrate seamlessly into a professional, close-knit team and maintain the highest levels of discretion.
- Compensation & Logistics: Salary will be dependent on experience and qualifications. A two-month on, two-month off (time for time) rotation will be offered. The anticipated start date is around August 2nd, 2025, with joining to take place in the USA so you must hold a valid B1B2 visa (C1/D not accepted due to US immigration rules governing private yachts).
