Start Date: Immediate – ideally en route to Malta
Salary: €3,500/month (during 3-month probation) and Increased salary to €4,000 post-probation (September).
We are seeking a dynamic, professional Chef to join the crew of a newly delivered Lagoon 77FT catamaran, currently on her maiden voyage to Malta. The yacht is registered under the Malta flag and will be commercially operated, chartering in the Mediterranean during summer and the Caribbean during winter.
Role Overview:
The Chef will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals for both crew and charter guests, adapting to varying preferences and dietary needs with creativity and flair. You will be expected to maintain excellent hygiene and galley standards at all times, while also contributing as a team player in all aspects of onboard life—assisting the captain and deck team on deck when needed.
This is a hands-on, multifaceted role ideal for a candidate who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys sailing, and brings a positive and adaptable attitude to every aspect of the job.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provisioning and preparing meals for guests and crew
- Creating varied and well-balanced menus for charters
- Maintaining galley cleanliness, organization, and hygiene to commercial standards
- Working closely with the Chief Stewardess to coordinate meal service
- Participating in guest interaction with professionalism and warmth
- Assisting with deck duties and line handling as needed
- Upholding all safety, flag state, and hygiene regulations relevant to a Malta-flagged commercial yacht
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Chef in yachting or high-end hospitality
- STCW, Food & Hygiene Level 2 or higher (in line with Malta Commercial Yacht Code requirements)
- Strong team spirit and flexibility to assist outside of the galley when required
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus
- Passion for sailing and a proactive, hands-on approach
