We are looking for a talented and passionate Sole Chef for a beautiful and luxurious San Lorenzo yacht, cruising the Mediterranean. You will be responsible for preparing meals for the owners, their guests, and the crew. This is a unique opportunity for a culinary professional who values excellence, creativity, and life at sea.
About the Yacht & Team
You’ll join a modern and stylish vessel with a stable and experienced crew, led by a fantastic captain. The owners are warm, respectful, and passionate about gastronomy. They enjoy healthy yet refined cuisine, a mix of French and Italian gastronomy with Asian influences.
Cleanliness and hygiene are of the utmost importance on board, and highly valued by the owners.
Gastronomy and fine wine are central elements of life aboard, as the owner operates a renowned wine estate. You will also receive support from the owner’s private chef, who has extensive experience in the yachting industry.
Culinary Expectations
- Breakfast (for guests): Healthy and fresh breakfast buffet
- Lunch: Colourful and well-balanced salad and seafood buffets, occasionally grilled on the BBQ
- Dinner: Formal multi-course dinners featuring premium ingredients, fine plating, and perfect wine pairings
- Crew: Nutritious and tasty meals, with quality ingredients – including a mid-morning and afternoon snack to support long days (“happy crew = happy guests & owners”)
Profile We Are Looking For
- Experienced chef with a background in yachting or fine dining restaurants
- Passionate about clean, healthy, flavourful and elegant cuisine
- Well-organized, proactive, and capable of managing provisioning, planning, and galley hygiene
- Extremely attentive to cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety
- Team player with a positive and flexible mindset
- Professional, respectful, creative and calm under pressure
Requirements
- Previous experience as yacht chef or in high-end gastronomy
- Valid STCW and ENG1 medical certificate
- Excellent knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards
- Fluent in English (French or Italian is a plus)
- Available for a seasonal contract with possible extension
