Role: Full Time Butler/Steward
Location: Derbyshire, UK (North Yorkshire when required)
Salary: £38,000 – £40,000 gross per annum DOE
Work Schedule: 45 hours per week (evenings and weekends as required)

A UHNW Family are looking to hire a full time Butler/Steward to support their household by delivering exceptional service and maintaining the highest standards of presentation and hospitality. The candidate will ensure a comfortable, secure and welcoming environment for the family and their guests, while also providing assistance in various operational aspects of the household.
Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain a welcoming atmosphere for residents and guests
- Provide assistance with luggage, including packing and unpacking
- Serve meals and refreshments professionally and discreetly
- Set up and serve at table for private and formal functions
- Clean and store tableware appropriately
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation throughout the household, assisting housekeeping when needed
- Care for and clean silverware, antiques, china and fine furniture in accordance with training
- Maintain fireplace areas, ensuring fires are cleaned laid and lit when needed
- Assist with opening/closing of the house, including blinds, curtains and shutters
- Polish and care for footwear
- Maintain family vehicles and bicycles to a high standard; carry out basic maintenance and manage servicing schedules
- Provide occasional driving for family members and guests
- Assist with the care of family dogs
- Handle post and parcel collection
- Maintain outdoor and children’s play equipment
- Support household security procedures and emergency protocols
- Report damages or maintenance issues promptly
- Provide cover for event coordination and liaise with clients in absence of senior staff
Candidates Requirements:
- Previous experience as a House Steward, Butler or equivalent front-of-house role in a private household, luxury hospitality environment or yachting
- Strong service skills, including formal dining
- Hands-on experience in caring for antiques and luxury household items.
- Valid UK driving licence is essential
- High standards of discretion, professionalism and confidentiality
- Excellent attention to detail and personal presentation
- Flexible, proactive approach and willingness to work evenings and weekends
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
