Chief Engineer in Spain

Summary

Position: Chief Engineer

Yacht: 42m Private/Charter

Location: Med-based

We’re currently looking for a hands-on, experienced Chief Engineer to join our team aboard a busy 42m charter yacht. This is a permanent position with an excellent crew dynamic and a strong calendar of confirmed bookings.

• Start Date: 20.05.2025
• Salary: $7,500/month + charter tips
• Leave: 60 days annually (flexible rotation)
• Winter Base: Palma de Mallorca
• Charter Schedule: Fully booked for the Med season

Requirements:

• Minimum Y3 or equivalent (or strong commercial background with III/1 or III/2 CoC)
• Strong experience with Caterpillar engines
• Must be EU-based or hold valid Schengen visa

We're a close-knit crew who value teamwork, good communication, and professionalism. 

The right candidate will be someone confident in managing the engine room independently, yet collaborative when it comes to supporting smooth charter operations.

Essential Qualifications

Entry Level Qualifications (or equivalent)

• STCW 95 (STCW 2010)
• ENG 1 (Medical Certificate)

Engineering Qualifications (or Merchant, USCG & AMSA equivalent)

• MCA Marine Engine Operator License (Y)
• RIII/3 Y3 Chief Engineer (<500gt <3000kW)/ Chief Engineer (SV) (<500gt 3000kW)
