Summary
EXPERIENCED LIVE-IN HOUSEKEEPER REQUIRED FOR HNW FAMILY IN LONDON
Location: Central London
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £35,000-£45,000 per annum, negotiable depending on working days
Status: Live-in
We are assisting a really lovely HNW family based in Central London with the recruitment of an experienced and hard-working live-in Housekeeper to join their housekeeping team on a permanent basis. Working alongside two other housekeepers in this informal family home, you should be an excellent team player with a willingness to muck in where required and should also be able to work independently.
Duties will include general cleaning of all areas of the home, including living and dining areas, bathrooms, and bedrooms, and giving the chef a hand with tidying and cleaning the kitchen. With prior experience and excellent knowledge of how to care for luxury furnishings and the use of appropriate cleaning products, you will also assist with laundry and ironing duties from time to time. Personable, proactive and well-spoken, you will also meet and greet any visitors, assist the House Manager with keeping an eye on inventories and any cleaning products or pantry items that need to be purchased, and receive and unpack deliveries.
The family have 3 children and a very friendly dog, so it is essential that the successful candidate is child friendly and pet friendly. Though the family employ a permanent nanny, and this is predominantly a housekeeping role, the Housekeeper will also be required to mind and babysit the child (9 y/o) on an ad-hoc basis if the parents are running errands or if they are out for dinner, so flexibility is very important in this role. Over the weekend, you will work by yourself and some light cooking for the children might be required.
Working from Thursday to Monday, you will work around 8/9 hours per day and working hours can either be 11am-8pm or can be a split shift starting at 7am with a break in the afternoon and then coming back for dinner. For the right candidate, the family would also consider a 4-day work week, working from Friday to Monday.
Accommodation is provided in a very large open-plan room and lounge with its own separate kitchen and bathroom on the ground floor of the house, and food is included. During school holidays, when the family travel, the working days don’t necessarily have to fall over the weekend. The family are looking to appoint a proactive and dedicated Housekeeper to remain with them long-term and are really lovely to work for.
